Rocks

Rocks fall into three main families.

Igneous Rocks These are rocks formed by volcanic activity. 
Sedimentary Rocks These rocks are formed by the accretion of various types of fine particles.
Metamorphic Rocks These originated as (generally) sedimentary rocks that were subsequently exposed to high temperature and pressure (such as volcanic activity)
